What does scientific advising consist of ?
In order to help elementary school teachers plan their science and technology activities, Éclairs de sciences has put a structured scientific advising service into place. The service has two separate components: Normal advising , which covers the entire school year, and On-demand assistance , which serves the occasional needs of former participants.
These services are provided by volunteer science consultants who are trained by the Éclairs de sciences team and who are eager to share their passion and knowledge with elementary school teachers. Our volunteers work at universities, colleges, businesses, research centres, or are self-employed. What they have in common is education in a scientific area and knowledge of the field.
More specifically, the goal of scientific advising is to help teachers better understand and master the science and technology concepts involved in carrying out Éclairs de sciences activities.
To benefit from scientific advising
The normal scientific advising service offered by Éclairs de sciences involves an annual commitment on the part of the school’s team (teachers, pedagogical advisers, and administration). This entitles registered teams to science-related assistance from one of our consultants. Click on the Normal advising tab to find out more.
Éclairs de sciences also offers teachers more occasional assistance, primarily to answer one-off science-related questions. Click the On-demand assistance tab to learn more about this option.
